SYNOPSIS

On a starry mountaintop, the Fates – three sisters responsible for the Strings of Life – work in perfect harmony: Clotho, the youngest, spins each thread, creating a life; middle sister Lachesis measures to determine its length; and Atropos, with her ancient scissors, snips each thread once it’s reached its end. When Atropos refuses to spare the life of Zeus’s girlfriend, he thunders out a curse: the Fates must live among humankind until they feel the sharpness of Atropos’ blades for themselves.

Earth. 3,000 years later. The Fates have set up shop in the Infinity Building office tower, hating their day jobs just like the office workers who populate the building. Overwhelmed with work and the desire to get back home, the sisters disguise their true identities and keep a safe distance from the mortals around them. But Atropos, taking secret breaks at night, has a growing curiosity about the lives she sees (Uncharted Territory).

Meanwhile, in the basement, security guard Mickey crushes on the beautiful, strange woman he sees taking late night breaks in his security camera feed. When Atropos shows up in the basement Lost and Found searching for her misplaced scissors, Mickey takes his best shot (One Percent). But flustered Atropos is intent on finding her scissors and storms off to search the building.

Without Atropos in the workroom, the sisters come unmoored: Clotho, ever optimistic, longs to return to the perfect harmony of their mountaintop (Chocolate) and Lachesis, ever impatient, rails against her overbearing, absent older sister (So Over). When Mickey returns Atropos’ scissors and asks her out on a date, her curiosity starts to get the best of her (Just Curious). But she rushes back to her sisters, vowing to stay focused on her family and her job. As the sisters resume their work, Atropos discovers that Mickey’s string is about to be cut – the elevator he’s just entered is about to fall. In a split-second decision, she saves him, secretly pocketing his string as all the elevators in the building grind to a halt. Mickey and four Infinity Building employees are stuck in their elevators for nine hours (Get Me Outta Here) as Atropos’ decision begins to wreak havoc on the Universe…
